  1. I'm all about the short story collections.  I'm reading two right now.  And I have heard of YA short story collections, but most of the ones that I know are anthologies.  The only collection that I can think of with stories all by the same author is grl2grl.  Haven't read it.
Q: How many books have you read this year so far and can you do a breakdown of percentages of genres, gender and race of the authors, etc?

  2. Another neat collection of short stories I read at one point is Magic for Beginners by Kelly Link.I feel like she has a unique writing style. Kind of surreal sometimes. I should read some of those again…

  3. Q: Are you more terrified of grad school or being done school and going out into the ~~real world~~?

Q: I think we can agree that reading diversely is important, but what would your ideal breakdown be of different authors/genres/topics/etc be?

Q: How long before people stop gushing about pumpkin spice and start complaining about how cold it is?

  4. I can't think of a question Nancy, but I love your videos! I figured I should just say that 🙂

Hm… Actually I have something lol. I'm a relatively new subscriber so I'm not sure if you have read or posted about many graphic novels, or even comics. What's your thoughts on the genre? Graphic novels I would say are a hot thing since a few years ago, what about using them in the classroom as a tool for teaching? Should they be viewed as a..valid genre (for lack of a better phrase)? I went from having no questions to bombarding you with ones lol. Hopefully you get what I'm trying to convey from this. I'm very passionate about graphic novels, so I'm curious to hear what your thoughts are :)

  6. What are some of your favorite books on writing? & What are some of your favorite short stories?

When You Reach Me is so GOOD!!! SOOOOOO GOOOOOOOD!!!! Eleanor & Park……so many tears.

  7. I took a class called "The Short Story" from Pam Houston when I was an undergrad (UC Davis)! I loved the way she taught–sarcastic and funny. Her writing is the same but also quite sad and depressing (It hurts to read about characters with such deep self-esteem issues). And ooh! I just put One Crazy Summer on my tbr gr shelf. It looks so good!

  8. I would do a haul of my TBR list, but it is so long!!! lol. I am glad you have some different types of books/short stories, a lot of the time in booktube all you see is YA books. And as for a question….what is one book you read in school that blew your mind?

  9. 1. Coming up with excuses to buy books is my superpower.
    2. My excuse for buying "Cowboys are My Weakness" is that you basically forced me to.. how could you!?
    3. It's a little bit about the covers… A good cover always gets me!

Q:  I'm making concerted effort to read more diversely. Do you have any recommendations for Asian literature, aside from Murikami? (Yes I realize that "asian" is a somewhat vague term… but I really do not know where to start)

  10. So many short stories. Rad. Hm. Question for the Q&A. . . Are you doing NaNoWriMo? I feel like I already know this. Also what do you think about vlogging every day during NaNoWriMo? On one hand, I feel like it might be fun but on the other hand, I think I won't write much if I am making videos. But these aren't good questions for a Q&A. How about what book do other people love that you just hate? or. . . do you listen to music while you read and/or study?

  11. I haven't read the mistborn series either so don't worry, only bc I find that a lot of Brandon Sanderson's books are a bit expensive 🙁 also love Junot Díaz you should read this is how you lose her, I started reading it before I left for school and I was so sad I had to return it to the library

  12. That intro though  whoo-wee-whoo XD
Same! I love short stories and writing them 😀

    Q&A Question…..
Is there any book character which you wish you would have created/invented?
